Ability levels

BBeginners – new to Yoga or the style
e|Bexperienced beginners
Iintermediate level – at least two years of regular Yoga practise
Aadvanced level – at least four years of regular Yoga practise

B- Beginners
suited for people without previous Yoga experience or only with other Yoga styles. Conveyance of basic principles and easy postures from all Asana groups (standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists and inverted poses)

e/B – experienced Beginners
for people with previous experience in Iyengar Yoga or after participating in a beginners class for some time. The level is higher than in a pure beginners class. Knowledge and ability of basic principles are required and will be expanded upon. Several more complex positions are added.

I – Intermediate level
for Yoga practitioners with a minimum of two years regular participation in one of the beginner classes or individual practice in Iyengar style Yoga. Unsupported head balance is desirable. More complex sequences are added to the basic principles, several advanced asanas are taught and endurance is improved.

A – Advanced
for Yoga practitioners with a minimum of four years regular practice in Iyengar style Yoga. Unsupported head balance as well as endurance and strength are expected. Advanced asanas are practised plus additional differentiation of movement and co-ordination is explored.
